LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) An acting replacement has been appointed to fill the role of Lynchburg’s deputy city manager, who resigned abruptly last week.
Lynchburg City Manager Bonnie Svrcek has appointed Mike Goetz, Director of Information Technology, to serve as Acting Deputy City Manager, effective immediately.
Goetz has served as the City’s IT Director for 19 years. His Assistant Director, Terry Hutchens, will serve as the Acting IT Director while Goetz assumes his new duties.
Goetz is filling the role vacated by Charles Hartgrove, who resigned Wednesday after 18 months on the job.
The search for a permanent Deputy City Manager is already underway. In a news release Svrcek said the city’s recruitment profile has been updated and a statewide search is being conducted.
